Profits in Singapore

As is shown in figure 1, initially profits of Mojo in Singapore increased gradually and became stable in the following year. This was because Singapore government introduced a favorable taxation policy in the early 1990s. However, this was followed by a steady decline until 2001. The reason for this was attribiuted to economy progression in Malaysia which caused competition in the region.

Profits in Hong Kong

According to figure 1, there was a consistent growth in profits of Hong Kong Mojo and peaked in 1997. The possible cause of this was the prehandover boom in Hong Kong and people were optimistic about the economy. Yet, Profits of Mojo in Hong Kong dropped quite sharply and hit a trough in 1999. This appears to have been due to the post handover depression. Fortunately, profits rebounded until 2001 due to the growth of China market and its open-door policy.

Pantry
